Commissioned work

Your broken ceramics can also be made usable again using the Kintsugi technique. Please note that the processing is carried out using original technology with original materials, which is also reflected in the price due to the great effort involved.
Due to the slow polymerisation of the urushi, the processing time is around three to six months.
After your object has been processed using the kintsugi technique, normal use is again possible - but with certain restrictions: cleaning should only be done by hand in warm water - tea utensils, however, are not cleaned anyway. Mechanical stress, e.g. with cutlery, should be avoided as the gold plating can be damaged.

If you would like to send your ceramics in need of repair in an insured parcel, please inform me in advance and give me the parcel number for tracking purposes. After receipt of your objects you will receive a work contract with binding prices. You can determine the approximate costs in advance on the basis of the following price orientation - execution with powdered gold or bronze powder on urushi.

Costs

The following guideline prices for commissioned work apply to smaller objects made of raku ceramic, such as tea bowls
(Please inquire about prices for processing objects made of porcelain and stoneware.)

Determination of the length of the adhesive seam

2 fragmente

With two fragments, measure the length of the broken edge on one fragment - in the example above, this is 9 cm rounded up to full centimetres. This corresponds to a guide price of EUR 90.00 when using powdered gold to glue the two fragments together using the kintsugi technique.
If you have an object with more than two fragments, things can get a bit more complicated. In this case, simply measure the length of each fracture line on each fragment, add up the individual measurements, and divide by two to determine the length of the bond line for use in determining the cost.
